INTERNSHIPS AND STAGES IN ITALY

Reference person Prof. Paolo Di Lorenzo <paolo.dilorenzo@uniroma1.it>

Data Science M.Sc. program strongly encourages students to carry out an internship program during their 2-year academic career. Internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent and possibly consider students as their future workforce. In particular, every year Data Science students are offered the possibility of meeting public and private companies as well as research institutes during the annual meeting named "Industrial Liaison Program". In any case students can resort to their own independent search for internship opportunities. Data Science M.Sc. program acknowledges the internship with academics credits within the other activities label (AAF) as long as internal rules are respected [1,2]. Interested students can read more details about interships in this document that has been presented during the annual meeting with first-year students, usually scheduled in the first days of December.
